Welcome to my practice. Let’s get started.

Meet Sarah

Hi there! My name is Sarah and I am not your traditional therapist.

I started practicing in 2016 working with college and graduate level students in university settings. I transitioned from academia to the San Francisco County foster care system where I provided individual, family and court mandated therapies addressing the trauma foster youth and their families were experiencing. Prior to private practice, I worked for a mental health start up company providing individual therapy and clinical assessments for adults experiencing a variety of mental health challenges.

I treat a wide range of clinical concerns with my main specialties focusing on trauma, anxiety and family of origin related issues. I believe that our early life experiences become the blueprint for how we respond to stress and engage with others. Trauma and acute stressors throw our internal systems off balance and it can be challenging to help our bodies return to neutral or realize that the distressing event is over. Therapy can help provide the corrective experience our bodies and minds need to return to a place of peace.

Working with Sarah

What makes me different from my peers is I show up in the therapy room as my whole, authentic self. I deeply care about my clients and their process, thus prioritize building safe and strong relationships with each person I work with.

It is okay to cry together, laugh together and roll our eyes together. I see therapy as an adventure where we will be going through the trenches side by side. This journey is not a straight path and each turn will take you exactly where you need to be.

Outside of the therapy room, I am an avid yogi and practice daily (almost). Living in PDX means a lot of time outside, going to farmers markets on Saturdays and hunting for treasures in thrift stores. In my downtime, I enjoy reading, cooking, spending time with loved ones and watching classic movies (prepare for many TV/Film references in our sessions).
